My hosting service recently upgraded and I haven't been able to get mail to work since.

When I go to configure Outbound email settings I can get test emails to deliver using mail(), smtp, or sendmail but when I try to send anything from any other part of the program regardless of the settings on that page, nothing is delivered.

I get errors - usually "Sorry. A non-recoverable error has occurred. There is no valid smtp server setting. Click ..." -not helpful.

When I go back to outbound emails page, the parameters that I entered are empty.

When I try a bulk mailing, it says it is processing them, but nothing is sent and it just keeps saying "running"

THe site is DurhamCLEAR.ca and I'm running Civicrm 3.4 (just upgraded but it didn't make any difference.) with drupal 6

This may be a cron issue as I have done nothing special to set that up. I find a lot of the documentation pages way too dense - they assume a high level of geekiness.

Mail was working before the hosting update and I didn't do anything then to make it work either.

In addition, my new hosting platform has no command line interface that I can access. So I can't run test scripts to see what's working or not.
