Required fields
July 21, 2011, 01:08:28 am
Hello,

In my profile I checked a field to be required.(the data type is FILE), so users have to complete that field.
It worked for all the other fields(their data type were different), but not for this one that I mentioned.

Can someone help me to solve this problme?

thank you

I think this is an outstanding issue for civicrm. The main reason (based on my memory) is that in the edit case if a file already exists, the required is not necessarily needed, and we cannot populate the file field properly.

Maybe the right thing to do is to make the field required if needed for the "create" case and do the current behavior for the edit case

Can you investigate and submit a patch. Please ping us on IRC if u need help getting started
