How to properly set CiviMail in localhost ( and a Gmail related issue)
July 21, 2011, 09:58:35 am
Hi everyone,

I'm really satisfied with Drupal CiviCrm installed on my Mac via Mamp.

Now, I'd like to set CiviMail in order to record the send-email-action each time I need to write to my contacts,
instead of using the mailbox via Thunderbird or the web (then I have to write the same activity in CiviCrm, and it's quite a waste of time!).

The other matter is that I'm using a Gmail account linked to my own email domain (that is, my sviluppo@fondazioneguidogini.it mails are sent and received via riccardofgg@gmail.com). I'd like to send my email with the sviluppo@fondazioneguidogini.it (so that the contacts will see this name as the sender) and sync the gmail "sent box", so that all my email communications are stored in one place.
What are the values I have to use in CiviMail to do this? The gMail or those of my domain  ??? ? Or maybe a combination of the two  ;D ?

The problem is that I don't know how to start. And so, a step-by-step answer, or a link to the right resources would really be appreciated!

Anyone of you facing the same issue? And even better, anyone has solved it?

Many thanks!
