Best way to store a in-kind gift?

Hi everybody,

a contribution-question:

what's in your experience the best way to store an in-kind contribution?

Way I thought about:
add a "in-kind" option to the type-field +
put the monetary value of that contribution in the dedicated field +
use the note field to specify what does the contribution consist of.

Suggestions?
