IMPORT/EXPORT mapping records - blank

Hi,

I'm seeing some blank records in the Import/Export mapping table and in the administer mapping area.

There are fields linked to the mapping records but they have a name of group and point to group id in the value column and have the operator column filled in.

Are these records to do with the search builder or something?

Should they not show in the import/export mapping view? I can't delete them because all the fields are blank and I get an error screen.

Am I missing a mapping type record maybe? Although I can't find the mapping type table to find out.

I think it might be something to do with saved searches when you create a smart group.

In Table 'civicrm_saved_search' there is a column 'mapping_id' and there are some records in that table referencing the mapping records that have blank in all columns.

So the mappings were created when creating a smart group from a search. Not sure why the records would have been created with no info in them.

Still can't find the table that stores the mapping types.

Any help appreciated.

ok found mapping types in table 'option values' and I can see rows in there for 'search builder'

unsure as to why the mapping records are blank.

I've just replicated the scenario on the joomla demo:

-flag demo user as in group 5
-Run search builder --> individuals, groups=5
-finds 1 record
-action --> new smart group
-save smart group info
-look in administrator - configure - import/export mapping

there is a blank row in the table.

Should I raise an issue?

Dave - Just verified what you're reporting. A mapping record is created when a Smart Group is created using Search Builder. The mapping / mapping_field records provide the mechanism for rendering the smart group's search criteria in Search Builder when you "Edit Smart Group Criteria" for that smart group. This functionality seems to be working as designed. The "bug" is that a 'name' and a 'mapping_type_id' should be set for the mapping row when it's created for the smart group. Name s/b same as Smart Group title. mapping_type_id should = 1 (since that's the mapping_type option value 'value' for Search Builder).

I don't think this bug affects any functionality - but does cause confusion for folks looking at Import/Export Mappings list. Would be great if you could investigate and submit a patch.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for looking into this, you've confirmed what I thought, the rows are needed for the search but the values aren't placed into the mapping records.

I'll add this to my list to look at.

I will definitely get on IRC and ask people about setting up SVN and debugging etc.. I'm just getting my head round XAMPP and eclipse, is this what others use for SVN?
