Event Cancellation Emails - for other than "registered" status
July 28, 2011, 08:02:00 am
I'm seeing some differences in the way civicrm notifies users of cancellations - specficially - a notice is sent (the notice box is visible in the participant record and checked) if I change a user from "Registered" to "Cancelled". However, if I change one from "Pending" (from a Pay Later) to "Cancelled" manually from the participant record, nothing is sent out (and we'd like it to be - we want them to realize we haven't got the payment so that they can follow up if necessary). We run a cron job as well periodically but don't know if emails have been going out in that situation for that either.

I couldn't find anything in the documentation or forums about this, or anywhere in the configuration options, am I missing something? Or is this option not available?

Thanks
Chris

Chris - turns out this was unintentionally caused by a bug in a jscript function (which was caused by a change in the way date fields are rendered on all forms). I've committed a fix for 3.4.5 / 4.0.5.

If you want to fix your install now, patch templates/CRM/Event/Form/EventFees.tpl, replace these lines:

       document.getElementById("receive_date[M]").value = null;
       document.getElementById("receive_date[d]").value = null;
       document.getElementById("receive_date[Y]").value = null;

with this line:

       clearDateTime( 'receive_date' );

Thanks for this - I think I'll just upgrade to 3.4.5 and that should resolve this, correct?

Cheers
Chris
