Search results show only site registrants, not contacts added in Civicrm
July 30, 2011, 01:26:54 pm
A few days ago I imported a small list of contacts into the database, and everything was working well.  Now, however, when I try to find those same contacts, the search results show the proper number of records, but displays only site registrations.  Additionally, an error message is displayed in the Find Contacts search window (/civicrm/contact/search?reset=1) prior to running the search:  Notice: Undefined offset: 2 in CRM_Contact_Selector->getColumnHeaders() (line 381 of /home/mysite/public_html/mysite.org/sites/all/modules/civicrm/CRM/Contact/Selector.php).

Any ideas as to what may have happened?

1. What versions of Drupal and CiviCRM do you have?

2. What happens if you go to the CiviCRM home page, put the mouse in the auto-complete search box in the top left, and press Enter? You should see a list of all contacts.

I apologize...I had intended to give Drupal and Civicrm versions in my first post:  Drupal 7, Civicrm 4.0.0.

Same result occurs as running a search from Contacts menu, including error messages.  See screenshot.

Actaully, the contacts that are showing are ones I added to the database by hand, not the ones I imported from .csv files.  I don't understand why the search results shows the highlighted alphabetical links and the correct number of total, but no listing of them.

I really don't know, but I could suggest you first upgrade to CiviCRM 4.0.4 and see if that help.s

Did you solve this?
September 14, 2011, 12:07:23 pm
hiya mocolvin, did you solve this? I have the same problem (only that the error refers to line 523 instead of 522, and 382 instead of 381) when searching for contacts. Would've been interesting to hear if your situation was resolved! Thanks!

Hi again, I wonder, could this have something to do with the function &getRows in file /CRM/Contact/Selector/Custom.php asking for some variable $offset, and this not being defined in the file CRM/Contact/Selector.php? And then something similar for the function &getColumnHeaders..?

I'm asking though, I do not at all claim to know, but it seemed somewhat logical to my rather non-functioning brain  ;D

@Hershel: I for one get the exact same error when using the search box at the top menu. But I also get an additional error:

(btw, I'm using D7 and CiviCRM 4.0.5)

Oh, look at that, it must have fallen out of my reply!

I got the following two notice messages:

Notice: Undefined offset: 2 i CRM_Contact_Selector->getRows() (linje 523 av /home/anders/domains/trulle.no/public_html/sites/all/modules/civicrm/CRM/Contact/Selector.php).

and the one posted by mocolvin:
Notice: Undefined offset: 2 i CRM_Contact_Selector->getColumnHeaders() (linje 382 av /home/anders/domains/trulle.no/public_html/sites/all/modules/civicrm/CRM/Contact/Selector.php).

However, for reasons completely unknown to me, I cannot seem to reproduce the error all of a sudden. I haven't got the faintest what I did that fixed this, though, or if it is in fact fixed, but as long as it looks ok, I think I'll avoid trying to mend anything. That is, unless you can tell me what is wrong and if it still is... :)

Hard to say, but if it's OK now, leave it. If it comes back, post a new thread.

Undefined offset: 2 in CRM_Contact_Selector->getColumnHeaders()
September 20, 2011, 06:36:35 pm
Hi forum,

I consistently get the error in the subject of this post along with "Undefined offset: 2 in CRM_Contact_Selector->getRows()" but haven't found any discussion of this issue other than this post. Is this a known problem?

I have only just installed CiviCRM and have imported only 15 contact from Excel so there's very little data and custom configuration in the install.

CiviCRM 4.05, Drupal 7.7

Is it also fixed in 4.0.x?

Cheers,

yes

note that you can turn notices off in the drupal admin menu. We do recommend you do that for 4.0.x as we are still working on fixing the various notices civi emits. we hope that 4.1 is notice free :)

Thank Lobo: as everything seemed to be working despite the warning messages, turning off the Drupal errors seems to be an interim solution. I look forward to an update which will allow me to turn warnings back on but for now, things are working.

Cheers,

Nick
