Some operations produce URL with local host in it.
August 08, 2011, 09:48:24 am
I am new to drupal and civi and it seems I have caused myself an installation problem which I do not know how to fix.  When I try to ad a custom field into an existing group and I hit the view edit fields link or the preview fields link the URL returned to the browser has local host in it.  This fails on any machine other than my server can someone tell me what setup file i need to change.  Most links in the program work but I have to admit to not exploring to much.

Looks like you have moved your civicrm install. I would recommend you to follow instructions listed here: http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC40/Moving+an+Existing+Installation+to+a+New+Server+or+Location

Thank you for the reply but I did not move my site.  I read the documentation and the section that seems applicable was changing the apache2 default file to allow hta access.  I followed instruction and restarted the server however this did not work.  I hope someone can figure out what I have done wrong but if not I am just going to start from scratch and reload the server.   :-\

Okay just so you all know this problem was caused by a incorrect baseurl in the civicrm.conf.php file.    You might also want to know that if you set up the database driver settings in the settings.php file to be the loopback address instead of localhost the system seems to run faster.  This however is my impression and I did not benchmark it yet.

Can you check if you have specified correct base url in civicrm.settings.php, ideally you should not modify civicrm.conf.php file.
