Adding Upload field
August 08, 2011, 12:27:10 pm
I have added a custom field to enable persons to upload an image or pdf file.  Now my questions is, do I now include a submit button? How does the files get uploaded to my system and is there some way of my directing the upload to a specific directory?

Thanks.
C.

If you have added a custom field of type "Contact" it should appear on New Individual screen. If you are collecting information using profile, you will have to include / add this field to the profile.

Re: Adding Upload field

Well, the upload field is so that persons can purchase ads in a magazine and upload an image.  I would like to have them pay online for their ad in the magazine.

I created the page with the upload field, and it gives you the ability to browse to your image and after entering the other information on the page, such as name, address, company information, etc.  they will click the 'continue' button to get to the next page.  It looks like everything is working properly, but no image appears in the upload folder that I created.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
C.

can you reproduce this on demo and show us what you are trying to do and what is not working? Does the image appear in profile view?

Thanks.

Yes, I created custom data 'My Magazine' and also a profile 'Advertise with us', a short version of what I am trying to do.  After a client decides what type of ad they would like to pay for and browses to find their image to upload to our server, everything looks like it is working but the image does not appear in my upload folder.  Somehow, the image is not uploaded.  Any ideas?

Thanks.
C.
