CiviEvent Views Register link turns into Manage Event link in some Browsers
August 08, 2011, 04:09:48 pm
I was excited to see that I could create a Drupal View that lists events and links to the Registration page for the event.

The View works fine in Chrome.  The link is
....civicrm/event/register?reset=1&id=4

But in Safari and IE the most BIZARRE thing happens!  The link becomes:
.../civicrm/event/manage?action=update&id=4&reset=1

I'm so confused about how these browsers would render the View with a totally different LINK.  How is this even possible?

Has anyone else had this problem?  Drupal 6.22 + Civi 3.4.4

I don't think it is possible for browser to change the link, I would suggest following:
1. Check your view if you have configure correct link.
2. Clear views cache
3. Clear browser cache before checking

Thank you Kurund.  Clearing the Views cache seems to have helped!

So now I have two OTHER errors to resolve... I probably need to create new posts for those.

I think that views has some clever links for events which 'degrade gracefully' - ie. I think there is a manage event link which degrades to being event info if the user doesn't have permission to manage the event. Not sure if there are others or I just want there to be

Thanks Eileen:

I just hope the functionality is consistent from this point forward.   It made me a little nervous about going live.
