Replies / bounces not coming through

Ok, I am back at this problem again. I do not receive any bounce notification on my mailings using CiviSMTP.

When I click Track Replies, and Forward Replies I do not see any tracked replies in my mailing report, nor do I ever receive the reply in the e-mail account I sent the mailing from. If I uncheck these two, then I do successfully receive the reply, but it is obviously not tracked in CiviCRM.

I receive everything else:
Intended Recipients
Successful Deliveries
Tracked Opens
Click Throughs
Unsubscribe

I have done a complete re-install of CiviCRM since I last posted this problem in:

SOAP is enabled according to phpinfo():
Soap Client   enabled
Soap Server   enabled

When I visit:
http://Pathto/dp/sites/all/modules/civicrm/extern/soap.php

I get a blank page. Other posts I have read said I should download an XML file, but this was for older versions of Civicrm - is this still true?

Is it something to do with EmailProcessor cronjob?

Any ideas?

At this point, I am willing to hire someone to fix this.

Hi Brian,

this is a known issue with CCRM 4 - bounces, replies, unsubscribes and etc not coming through.

we have submitted a bug to CCRM and proposed a patch:

http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-8638

and are currently working with the core team to get it into the next version 4.0.6

to answer the other 2 questions:

blank page is expected when accessing the soap.php through a web browser. what you want to look for is whether http response is 200 rather than 500 which means a server error. if you're getting http response 500 then there is an error and you need to check your server error logs.

EmailProcessor cronjob is not necessary for CiviSMTP setup as your bounces, replies, unsubscribes and etc will go through CiviSMTP servers and be handled using your soap.php

Thanks Shane. I do get a http response of 200, so I guess that is working.

Looking forward to the release of 4.0.6 I guess! Until then I will just not track replies.

I see the issue only refers to 4.0.5. I am still on 4.0.4.

Does it affect all 4.0 installs, or is it specific to 4.0.5?

I've applied the fixes for Drupal 7 and CiviCRM 4.0.5.

My bounces / unsubscribes are now showing, but I am still not receiving replies. Could you look into it for me? Username is nbla.

One question: the only part of the setup that I am not able to follow directly is part 6. In CiviCRM 4.0.5 there is no 'Default Option', and there is also a box 'Used For' where you must select Bounce Processing, or E-mail to Activity which is not discussed in the civismtp setup guide:

I have Bounce Processing selected. Would that have any impact?

Hi Brian,

replies for your account are being processed fine on our end, no errors.

last one was  on Aug 16 19:17:04 CDT

Are they showing up in your CiviMail report?

Please try replying again and let us know by email to civismtp [at] uas.coop the reply from address, what from address you used in the mailing as well as specific date/time so we can check our logs again.

Additionally please send another mailing and include civismtp [at] uas.coop on it so we can check it out.

Hi Leyla,

I have sent out another mailing, this time including you as a recipient.

I have also replied again as you have asked for.

Your receipt times of my e-mail replies last night are correct, so it is strange they are not being logged. Are you able to tell which e-mail address they are then forwarded to from you?

to answer your question about instructions for step 6: Bounce Processing will work for the "Used For" setting. I will update the instructions on our site so it's less confusing :)
