Standard Event Listing Config?
August 09, 2011, 08:11:07 am
I can't find any settings to limit the default "Event Listing" menu type for Joomla.  We'd like the listing to automatically remove events that are older than a few days.  Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks,
Curtis

I dont think there is a setting for this right now. You'll need to modify the code directly and/or contribute a patch that exposes the setting (which is probably not too hard)

The code is here: joomla/site/elements

Separately in 4.0.5 there was a bug which meant that old events were showing up even if disabled or long in the past. A patch has been done which works - http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-8620

So now at least you can show only "live" events not all events. It doesn't allow you to remove events that are still live and/or categories of events.

Thanks for the info!

Would it be hard to add the code in the Events Module to the Event Listing Menu option?  All of the code is already there and works really well.  I'm not a developer, so forgive me if this is unreasonable.

Thanks,
Curtis

Hey EdP,

If you go here:  http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC40/CiviEvent+Joomla+Module
...and look under "Project Files" you will see it is already out.  This is the module we are already using, and what i am referring to in my last post.  The code from that module should be added to the Event Listing Memu option.

Thanks,
Curtis

Thanks,

Beyond my skills, probably, but I'm sure if you do it and submit it the team will be grateful for the help...otherwise you'll have to ask Brian S nicely to do it...
