Problems with adding a new event template (SOLVED)
August 09, 2011, 07:33:13 pm
Hi,

I have an install of civicrm and, for the most part it works great, but when I try to make a new event template i get a 'page not found' error when I hit save. The url just goes to /civicrm/event/add and says page not found. I have another install of civicrm and I know that the url should have bunch of additional stuff when it works properly.

I am doing all of this as the admin user and my permissions are definitely set as recommended by the install docs.

In my investigations to date I think I have managed to figure out it something my host is doing. The way i did this was I did a fresh install on another site, that is on the same host as the none working site, and instantly same issue.

The working version i mentioned earlier is on another host, that seems to be the only point of difference. I checked error logs on the site and they don't mention anything relating to the page not found issue.

Now, my question is, does anyone have any clues what my host is doing/restricting to cause such an issue? In (what I think is) a related issue, when I try to add dashlets to the dashboard to view summaries they come up with 'you are not authorized' page instead of the chosen report etc (Of course, i can still view the data through the civicrm menu, but I thought this might be important info).

Anyway, while I am mildly proficient (i can edit templates, set things up etc) with civicrm, I am pretty clueless when it comes to host issues, so any help/tips will be greatly appreciated.

UPDATE: this also happens when I try to export a participant listing.

thanks!
Karina

I managed to get it 'fixed'.
It was down to the mod_security settings, so my ISP just disabled mod_security for my site. Not perfect, but it works now.
