Hi all,

I'm using Joomla 1.5.23 and CiviCRM 3.4.3 and I have a question regarding the setup of Mailing Labels.

I have got the details of a large number of organisations, and for those organisations, I have the names of many of the Marketing Directors. Many, but not all. I have set up the labels so that a smart search selecting contacts shows the name of the contact, their position, employer and the employers address. This all works very well.

However, I also need to produce labels for organisations for which I do not have the details of the Marketing Director (this is a separate smart group) and instead need to produce a label with "Marketing Director" then the company name and address.

Is there any way that I can automate this without having to change the Mailing Label settings every time?

Any ideas or suggestions would be very gratefully received.

Hello Garford,

Have you tried setting up a line That would say "Marketing Director {marketing director's name here}"? that way if you have the name, it would read "Marketing Directer John Smith". If you don't have the name it would simply read "Marketing Director".

Where do you have the names of the MD's when you have them - as separate Contacts who have the Org as their Employee? Or using one of the Org fields?

Sounds like the former, if so, why not make a bunch of Indivs with Marketing Director as their first/last
