Hi there,

Trying to figure out how to edit the default generated CSS for the contribution widget. Where should i be looking for this code? And is there a way to override via template to avoid overwriting core files?

CSS (and jscript) for the widget is defined in templates/CRM/Contribute/Page/Widget.tpl. You should be able to set up a custom templates directory tree, and customize a copy of this file with the changes you need. If you haven't done template customization yet - chk the Extend / Customize chapter : http://en.flossmanuals.net/CiviCRM/
