Step by Step Guide to Configure and enable GOTV and Convassing capability

Greetings all,

Civicrm has a very good GOTV and civic canvassing capability that also integrates with external databases for US Senate, congress, state and city Civic officials for Get out to Vote and Canvassing.

However I fail to find a single source of information where necessary guidance, resources, step by step instruction is available in order to complete a GOTV and Canvassing solution.

Can anyone please help in this regard. Most of the URLs and information is scattered around different blogs, websites etc. Its confusing enough that I have not been able to put together a good GOTV and canvassing solution.

The current set of documentation for this is:

Its a bit old with the new campaign / survey / petition functionality in the past two versions. The upcoming book sprint in london will improve and build on this.

If you/your company can contribute resources / funding / docs towards it that would be great
