Segmentation Fault
August 21, 2011, 08:01:14 am
I have tried everything I can think of and I am not sure what else to do.

The other day I installed a new theme on a site we are building (Drupal 7) and we started getting segmentation errors.  We disabled the themes and the site was still not working so we went module by module and disabled them. Disabling Civi did the trick.

The only errors I can find are [Sat Aug 20 12:41:23 2011] [notice] child pid 4789 exit signal Segmentation fault (11)

We did not move the site, we did not make changes to CiviCRM. I am trying to figure out how to troubleshoot and solve this problem.

Thanks,
Steve

Hershel, Thank you for sharing that link but I do not think that is the same problem as not changes were made to the server.

I think it is also very important to note that all the other sites on the server work perfectly.

Thanks,
Steve

It's quite hard to say what might be wrong. I would do like it says there and try to find a coredump in the /tmp directory and examine that for an error message.

PHP core dumps are hard to fgure out, IMO :(

might be easier to upgrade to a more recent version of PHP if u r not on the latest

I have not been able to do the dump yet so I have not found something specific. Is there a best case version of PHP to be running. I have another site running on the same server with a similar installation and it appears to be doing great.

Thanks,
Steve
