Display Contribution ID
August 24, 2011, 09:06:18 am
We're currently using CiviCRM 3.3.6 on a Joomla! 1.5.23 install and I'm wondering if there is a way to display the Contribution ID on each contribution detail page somehow?  We run a large annual silent auction and would like to capture items and associated donors using CiviCRM.  Our objective is to use the Contribution ID as a unique identifier for each specific item (since we need to number each item to keep them all physically organized).  Thoughts on if/how this could be done?

1. FYI the ID should be in the URL of the page, so it's technically already on your screen

2. You could customize a template to show this fairly easily

3. You could use jQuery (or similar) to display this.

Options 2 or 3 would require a programmer or at least a very technical layman. :)

Yeah, for me it's not a problem viewing the ID in the URL, but for most of the users inputting info it'll probably be over their head.  Thanks for the response.
