[solved] can't connect to mailstore following server move
August 29, 2011, 07:47:33 am
I'm setting up the autofiling features... (i.e. EmailProcessor.php activities) following a server move.

it used to work.

now I get this error:

CRM_Core_Error::fatal(Could not connect to MailStore
Error message:
An error occured while sending or receiving mail. Failed to connect to the server:

For testing purposes I'm calling the email processor from the command line using my drupal admin account.

I've checked that I can login to the civicrm email account on the mail server using the same credentials set in admin>mail accounts, and the error message shows me the credentials used, which do seem correct.

I've tried it with and without a local part, and various other options such as ssl. - oh and the mail account is set to activities processing rather than returns.

I can't see where to set the port, which is all I can think of now...

Any ideas at what should I look at next?

Many thanks...

Try another method such as POP3 or IMAP and see if that helps.

Many thanks for the suggestion..

results -

Same error on POP3 - no error using Mialdir, but no processing either -

I should add that the mail is on another server, and is on the same server it was on before the civicrm move...

I'm wondering what settings on the civicrm server could influence this behaviour?

Are you sure your new web server isn't blocking pop/imap connections and does have imap module?

Try login in ssh to the webserver and telenet your mail server on port 143 (double check the port number for imap, that's from the top of my head)

Turns out to be the firewall on the server doing the polling - many thanks for suggestions.
