Can't insert {domain.address} (SOLVED)
August 30, 2011, 09:00:06 am
I keep getting this error message:
This message is missing a required token - {domain.address}: Domain address - displays your organization's postal address.

I have tried everything I can think of:
I've inserted '{domain.header}' into the text of the message (both .htm and .txt versions)
I've clicked on 'Insert Token' and it added the token to the 'Mailing Subject" box, but I still get the error message
I've tried inserting the token for 'Domain (organization) address" from the drop-down list of tokens.
I've tried inserting it in the 'Mailing Header' block at the bottom of the compose page and I've played around with the content of that on the 'Headers, Footers, and Automated Messages" page, including trying to give it a 'mailing header' Component Type attribute on that page with no luck -- the only option is 'Header'.
I've checked (per Lobo, elsewhere) the syntax of the token label.
I tried to change the Option List for the Mailing Header block - no luck
I've read and re-read the documentation in the Help pages.
( I should admit that, having had a problem with a newer version of CiviCRM, I reverted to 3.3.2 and plan to get up to 4.n after I finish the project that needs this mailing).
I'm sure there is a simple explanation (as I found with the above-mentioned problem), but I sure can't find it.
Any suggestions? Thanks.

hi,
i think this issue has something to do with the wysiwyg editor. this post: http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,20407.msg85277.html#msg85277 indicates that there is an issue with the tinymce editor, but i also could not insert tokens with CK Editor on a site running 3.4.5. Seemed to work fine on a site running 3.4.4.

to get around the issue i changed the wysiwyg editor to "text area" and i was then able to insert the {domain address} token. so i suggest you play around with the editor choices and see if you have any success.

hope this was helpful,
cynthia

ps there was no issue with this on the 3.4.5? demo site, which was configured to use CD Editor.

SOLVED!
Thanks, Cynthia. That wasn't the solution, but it got me started again, and I did improve the configuration of the editor (OpenWysiwyg).
What I did was go back into the Headers, Footers, and Automated Messages page and changed the Mailing Header content from some text to '{domain.address}'. After that, no more error messages. I'll probably go back in and see if I can mix text and token to get a little prettier header, then save the whole thing as a template so that other users don't go through what I did.
