Missing 'Notes' section in Contacts

How come when I create a contact record, there is a 'Notes' section where I can enter additional data (like a bio), but when I go back through Search or try to edit the record, there is no "Notes" section?
Or is this just one more reason to upgrade from 3.2 (long story)?

When you edit there is also no Notes tab?

That is correct. Maybe a flaw in the Profile definition?

I am not sure. I would suggest you upgrade first and see if that helps.
