Adding fields to Location / Event Info

but am asking afresh in case anything has changed that might cause this to be reconsidered - or a different approach.

Adding Custom Fields to an Event is one way - but it means then fixing the tpl and the data is collected in the wrong screen for admins IMO

Key field for us is Contact Name - which can either be a text field or a contact reference field

Any thoughts before we head down the Custom Field and tpl?

On a slightly related note - if I add several phones to the Location eg Phone, Fax and Mobile - they are all displayed on the Event Info as Phone

(Can anyone guess that I was trying to add a new 'phone type' as Contact so that I would get my Contact Person in without diving in to code :-p)
