Is it possible to do a bulk creation of relationships?

For example, if I do an advanced search, filter out a set of contacts, how do I create relationships for all of these contacts in one action?

i.e. If I select 5 contacts from my search, I want to create a relationship for each of them with the same person.

We are using CiviCRM to generate leads for our organization and I want to be able to create a relationship with one of our volunteers for each of the leads/contacts already in the system. I have the relationship setup, I just don't know how to do the relationship assignment in bulk without having to do it one at a time.

We'll have about 30,000 leads and 400 volunteers following them up, so creating the relationships one by one is out of the question. I need our team leaders to be able to do the assignment in about batches of 10 at a time.

Any help is appreciated,

This is sort of possible by doing the following:

• Go to the target contact's page, and click "add relationship"
• Type the last name of each contact, separated by a space
• Click search
• Check the box by all the correct matches, sifting through the false-positives
• Click save to bulk-add the relationship

And I agree, the ability to do this from the search/actions page would be brilliant.

Did you ever get this to the Civi programmers? - we use civi on Joomla 2.5

I spoke with http://www.datascribe.biz, the vendor, this week and they said they will work to make sure this gets contributed to the project.
