Use of Deceased Flag to stop mailings
January 29, 2008, 01:44:03 am
I thought it was logical that if the deceased flag is set then CiviMail would respect it (and the survivors) and not send either email or postal mail to the subscriber. I know there are workarounds, perhaps using a smart group but we are a larger organisation and can't be sure that people preparing mailings would exclude that group.

As a future feature, could we see some interaction between these fields?

Ah, well spotted, and apologies. Please file an issue in our issue tracker, and we’ll try to fix this in 2.0 (or 2.1 at the latest).
If you found the above helpful, please consider helping us in return – you can even steer CiviCRM’s future and help us extend CiviCRM in ways useful to you.
