I've got a site (D6, Civi 3.4.5 - recently upgraded) with two membership types set up. Neither of these membership types has ever had a relationship type set for it. Now I want to add a relationship type such that employees of the primary member (which are organisations) is also able to benefit from the membership. But I can't edit the membership type in the UI (the relationship type field is not present).

I can see that for a membership type which has a relationship type set, changing this could create all sorts of issues. But for a membership type that has never had a relationship type set for it, having the ability to set a relationship type after the event disabled is a real pain. Is there a straightforward-ish workaround?

I too would like to add a relationship type after it has been created.   It appears that as long as you haven't given that membership type to anyone you can still change one but after someone has it you can't.

Clearly I could change it in the table but I've have to guess it's disabled because it caused some sort of problem.  What problems?  Are there work arounds?
