Removing clients when multiple-clients enabled?
September 08, 2011, 09:51:54 am
Looks like you can re-assign a case from one client to another, but can't remove a client associated with a case? am i missing an obvious option?

if not, can i just build something to remove the relevant row from the case_contact table? seems to be the only place that client connection is made..

thanks
david

I don't think it's come up, so maybe there isn't a way.

There's probably at least one entry in civicrm_relationship, e.g. for the case manager.

There might also be entries in civicrm_activity_target and civicrm_activity_assignment which you may or may not want to remove, depending on whether you still want the activity associated with them.

For audit / case story purposes you would want the feature to add an activity to the case saying the client was removed. Similarly it shouldn't delete the relationship, just set an end date / deactivate.

yep - the first client entered has a relationship with the case manager - that's fine though as the case should(? at least could) be re-assigned to a different client as it currently stands.
Any other clients added don't have any specific relationships (unless they have been additionally added with a role) that i can see.

(the multi client system does seem a little iffy right now, though it's fulfilling a very useful purpose when it comes to reporting in my case, so no complaints!)

The reason for wanting a delete option was primarily if clients were added accidentally but it does make sense to add an activity if it was used for other reasons (and imo retain their association with any previous activities)

thanks!
