This has come enough times for my users that I think can fund part/all of it.

In civiMail, I can add groups, all good. However, I want to be able to add some individuals as well.

use case: I want to send an email to all the journalists AND the president of the company I mention in the Press release.

Implementation:

Add in the step4/test and option to add contacts (the same FB token system as for simple emails), when saving, it creates a hidden group (like if it where a search result) add the contacts in it, and add it to the mailing as one of the group.


Question: how many hours?


It should be able to display the list of these additional contacts as well when you re-edit a draft (eg as an option "see additional contacts" that would list all the contacts in this hidden group? This could potentially be a simple thing: display a different counter "X contacts not in the pre-defined groups, want to see them" and a bit of ajax magic so when you click it populates the FB token widget.
