How to create smart group with criterion "no contributions"
September 14, 2011, 08:11:07 am
Hey there,
For the grouping of our contacts, we created different smart groups based on the aggregated contribution totals that the respective contacts donated. This worked out fine, but what we would now like to do is to create another smart group that includes all contacts that didnt ever donate, that is contacts that are neighter contributor nor benefectors (for us it is important to distinguish between the two, and this is done based on the contribution totals).

Until now, unfortunately, I did not succeed in figuring out a way to create that last smart group, as the criterion would have to be "no contributions at all" and not just contribution amounts = 0€. The latter would be easy to search for, but the first as I said appears to be difficult. At least I dont know how to do it, also not with the search builder and the advanced search.

Anyone got an idea for me?
Thank you very much!

Anja

Your best bet would be to extend the contribution aggregate search:

http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/contact/search/custom?csid=2&reset=1

and add a checkbox to find 'null' contributors for a given date range. You will need php/sql skills to modify the custom search

If you do so, please share your changes so others can benefit
