PHP 5.3 and Civicrm 2.0
September 16, 2011, 02:12:19 pm
OUr host just upgraded to PHP 5.3

Our site is still on Drupal 5 and Civicrm 2.0

It appears CiviCRM will not run on PHP 5.3

we use a custom theme and so have put off upgrading due to lack of funding  to hire theme developers.

Is there any solution to keep the site running?

Nope, CiviCRM v2.0 won't work with php 5.3. Only option is CiviCRM upgrade to latest stable or downgrade php version.

... or (a third option for completeness): Move your hosting to a provider who supports PHP5.2 installations. Really just Kurund's option 2 anyway, "downgrade PHP by moving hosts".

Upgrading to current CiviCRM is a good idea, but there might be valid reasons that your org can't do that right now. So if your host says downgrade of PHP5.3 is impossible and you can't upgrade to CiviCRM 3.x just yet, you could consider this as an alternative.
