Cron job command doesn't work on Bluehost

Hi, I'm writing from a small, nonprofit news organization in California. We are running into a bit of trouble in trying to set up a cron job on Bluehost to run CiviMAIL. For some reason, Bluehost doesn't recognize the cron job command/code. What could be the reason for this? It would be of immense help if you could provide any insight about ways to troubleshoot this or any referrals to organizations in CA that provide low-cost CiviCRM tech support. Many thanks.

Almost impossible to give you any hints, I would try to contact Bluehost or check if there is any online documentation from Bluefish? The US part of the Core CiviCRM team is based in San Francisco, perhaps lobo can give you some recommendations for hosting?

in general we do recommend that folks stay away from the large category of "cheap shared hosting sites" for a few dollars/month.

You might want to talk to Hershel and CiviHosting that specializes in shared hosting for drupal/civicrm.

From my own experience too: stay away from 'cheap and ready hosting providers' for drupal/civicrm. A simple Drupal site can sometimes be done, but CiviCRM requires more TLC than they can provide. In The Netherlands we are now building up a relationship with a specialised hoster that will set up a dedicated server for CiviCRM, and I would really recommend getting support like that.

Thanks so much for the suggestions — very helpful. Do you have recommendations for other web hosting providers in the U.S. that integrate well with CiviCRM and Drupal?
