Multiple upcoming events block
September 21, 2011, 12:36:13 pm
Hello my company is a membr based association, we are promoting our members events but we also have our events, so what i would like to do is create 2 upcoming events blocks one for our member events and one for our events.
i was thinking about creating an event type which would be "member event" and put all the events which have this type in a different view.
The problem is i can't find where the upcoming events view is created so i can't put a filter on the view and create a second one with another filter.

I'm using drupal with civicrm and have been checking in the drupal view module where there is a view called upcoming events but when i modify it it doesn't seem to do any change on my view...

Could somebody help me to find that ??

Thank you

Hershel

What modifications did you make? You certainly should be able to modify the block view to only show events of a certain type.

I modified the view called upcoming events which takes the civicrm events as arguments in the view module in drupal. But it seems that this changes doesn't affect the upcoming events block that is displayed. I even tried to change the title of the view but it doesn't change anything ...

If your edits don't show up at all, then you may have the wrong View. Can you try changing something else? If it doesn't work, you may need to learn a bit more about Drupal blocks and views.

I understand that I have the wrong view, I made some research and the upcoming events block is filled in this file:
all/modules/civicrm/CRM/Event/BAO/events.php. I modified this file already but I was just asking if anybody knows which view in the drupal view I have to edit. As the view which seems for me the good one doesn't work.

I have 1 view which is set right now, it's called events and has for aguments civicrm events fields. It's my view used for the calendar. But this view doesn't fill any upcoming event block ... and as it's the only view which is set right now i don't understand where the upcoming event block is generated except the coded part in the file events.php.
