Toolbar CiviCRM
September 22, 2011, 07:21:26 am
We've recently upgraded our Drupal6/Civi3.5 install to a brand new server with D7/Civi4.05

Everything runs fine apart from the civiCRM toolbar which is not displayed at all. It used to be available on the 'old' install although only under /civicrm. On this former install, I did not use the drupal admin toolbar and I thought it might come from a conflict between both bars. However, even after I disabled the drupal admin toolbar, the civi toolbar remained unavailable either on the frontpage or under /civicrm.

I wonder if there's some new/hidden setting I overlooked.

Can you empty out sites/default/files/civicrm/templates_c/ ?

And also use shift-refresh in your browser.

None of the above worked. Is there a debugging procedure to follow?

What theme do you use? If it's not a core theme, can you switch to Garland or Bartik and see if then it works?

Do you have custom directories for templates/php ?

Might be that something has changed between the old and new version and the template or php code has to be adapted.

I'd remove the custom dir settings (save the setting somewhere)
clear the template_c folder
and some login/logout and curse words might put it back.

if it's back, then you'll need to find out which of the custom php or template has to be adapted.

It's definitely in the templates. If I remove the config that sets a custom template directory, the toolbar gets back.

Xavier got it right! :)

So what you need to do is review all the files in those custom template directories and compare to the old default templates and the new and then redo those customizations, if they are still necessary.
