Profile for contributions

I'm a data enterer. I tried to create a profile with only the necessary fields for adding contributions, so I don't have to hit the tab button numerous pointless times. I can't figure out how to link the profile so that I can use it for data entry???

Not sure if I follow and what you are asking for may not be possible. You may need to provide more info so we can tell if the profile should be able to work or not - depends what sort of a mix of fields you are using - you may want to mock up one on Demo with at least a sample from each of Contribution, Contact, Individual etc type fields that you are using.
