Event display and Drupal Views.
September 24, 2011, 01:00:29 am
I am using the standard "events" Drupal view to display a calendar of CiviEvents on the public facing website.   What I would like to do if have a different color background for each type of event. This way the visitor to the website can tell at a glance that various events are different event types.

I have looked at hacking up the Drupal calendar module to attach a different style sheet rule/id to each event, depending on event type.  Then I can customize the CSS as needed.

I have also looked at the steps at: http://drupal.org/node/855224   which does exactly what I need, except for it only works with Drupal taxonomy terms.

Any ideas on the best approach for this idea?

I expect a new Views handler is required to provide CiviCRM Event types as an option under Calendar Settings in the View - which on one of our set ups offers options for setting colours based on
- Content Types
- OGs
- Terms
- Vocabs

Other option might be to check in with the guys behind the civicrm event module http://www.impossible.co.in/blog/admin/drupal-module-civicrm-events-calendar-released (this is not an endorsement,  just a reference)

Any suggestions on where to look for some sample Views Handlers?
