Batch update part. status to attended but (some) participants marked Registered

When batch updating participant status via profile where the profile has only the Participant Status field OR choosing action Change Participant Status after using Find Participants, I'm getting strange results.

When I update participants' status to Attended, No-Show, or Can't Make It, some participants marked Attended actually get status Registered when I click Update Particiants. No-show has also turned into Cancelled. Both Cancelled and Registered trigger a confirmation email to get sent out, which I don't want. I'm using CiviCRM 3.4.4.

Looks like this has been found in other instances of Civi here and here recently:

I've tried to reproduce this on the demo site, but haven't been able to. To try, I created an event in the past, registered people both manually one-by-one and by batch adding them to the event. Changing Participant Status and Batch Updating via Profile both worked like they should.

Anyone else still seeing this problem? Or has anyone been able to reproduce this on the demo site?

May be you should upgrade to lastest 3.4.6 stable release.
