Loss of PayPal alerts after upgrade from 3.1 to 3.4
September 28, 2011, 09:57:22 am
I did some searching (this forum) to see if anyone else came across this issue but couldn't find anything.

We have a Drupal/civiCRM site set up for an organization that members can sign up for memberships and events with. We are using a Standard PayPal account so when a purchase is made, civiCRM directs the visitor to the PayPal site and on a successful transaction, PayPal sends the site an IPN, directs the visitor back to the Drupal/civiCRM site and sends the administrator an email alert letting them know that a transaction has been made.

We updated the site from 3.1 to 3.4 last week and since then they have not received any payment notifications from PayPal. Transactions are occurring, money is flowing into their PayPal account and they are able to pull reports from PayPal and civiCRM showing the transactions however PayPal has stopped sending the alerts. Is there a setting in civiCRM that would prevent PayPal from sending the alerts?

Thanks,
Andrew

I have the same issue. Anyone have any clues ? Is this a PayPal issue or a Civi issue ?

I'm not sure yet... I can't see anything wrong with civi.

I lodged an issue with PayPal support a couple of weeks ago and it looked like they were going to do something but then they just dropped the issue without ever getting back to me. Three emails later they seem to be picking up the issue again but I have to run a transaction report and send them a list of the most recent transactions so they can review their email log and see if the emails were actually sent in the first place. I think that's the first place to look.

Let me know if you come up with anything and I'll report back to hear as soon as I get any results.
