back office with price set did not update expired membership

I had an expired membership  (was a free 1 year), then used the price set feature to set up 3 memberships (main  + 2 sections) and added teh memberships via back office. 

The free 1-year was in the same org as the main, so should have had the membership record updated, instead there are 3 active and 1 expired.

I'll test again to see if this is a problem with the free membership.

Re: back office updates with a price set not updating existing memberships

I forgot that using "add" does just that - it does not check for existing memberships.   (as a user, having the renew link hidden is problematic :-)

In this case I wanted to add two new memberships via the price set,  but also add an existing membership,  that needed to be renewed.  Since Add does not check for any existing records, the old expired record was not updated.
