Duplicate Checking on Address Fields
January 30, 2008, 06:51:36 pm
I've noticed that duplicate checking is location specific.  For example, if I have an Individual in CiviCRM with a Main email address of bob@smith.com and I do an import with an Individual listing bob@smith.com as his Work address, the duplicate check won't flag it and skip, update, or fill as appropriate.  Instead, I'll have two separate records after the import.

Is there a way to generalize searches across locations that I am simply missing?  Am I unique in being interested in this way of comparing records?  I thought I'd throw it out there to see what others think.

No, currently CiviCRM does not have such functionality.
