Problem with CiviReport Permissions
October 07, 2011, 11:53:10 am
CiviReport permissions question:  I've created a Drupal role and a CiviCRM ACL to give a volunteer leader access to view contacts in his vicinity.  This is working properly.  The Drupal role has the CiviReport “access CiviReport” and “access Report Criteria” permissions enabled.  However using this role only allows access to selected Member, Event, Mail, and Campaign reports – and I really need to provide this role visibility to the Donor reports.  Is this by design or do other permissions need to be enabled?  I do not want to give this role "administer Reports" permission.

Hi Ricardo,

What permissions are defined for those Donor reports? (Look under "Report Settings" for each report.)  Probably they're set to "CiviContribute: access CiviContribute", so you'd want to assign that permission to the volunteer leader's Drupal role.  As long as they have "CiviReport: access CiviReport" and the matching permission required by the specific report, I believe that report should be available to them.

Thanks Allen ... that was the root of the problem.
