How do you alter the info shown on the search results page?
October 08, 2011, 09:22:28 am
On the search results page I want to see various fields as standard eg email and membership type rather than address.  In Configure - Global Settings - Search settings I have changed the Default Contact Search Profile, but the search results page does not reflect my choices.  Neither does it when I test this on the Demo site.  I have a vague memory that this is developing functionality and that a patch was released recently but I can't now find the info on the forum/blog.

Please can someone point me in the right direction?  Thanks.

There is a hook here: http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC40/CiviCRM+hook+specification#CiviCRMhookspecification-hookcivicrmsearchColumns but that requires a developer to implement.

u can use profiles which show contact fields only. you cannot show membership/contribution/ other component fields

If you want to show membership type, u'll need to follow hershel's suggestion

Hi lobo
I think I may have confused matters by mentioning membership type as I didn't mean something in Civimember, I was referring to a custom field we have set up with that name!

I only want to show a mixture of standard fields and custom fields (all individual contact fields) in the search results page.  However, what I mentioned below stands... that when I choose another profile in Settings-Contacts Search the required fields don't appear in the main search results screen.  In fact I only get contact names listed.

I have mirrored this on the demo site using a profile called Search Screen Fields Test including first name and marital status.  When I choose that it doesn't alter the search fields listed.  Please can you look at that and tell me if I'm doing something wrong.  Many thanks.

Lindsey

Great.  All sorted.  Thanks lobo.  I hope to finally get round to posting a blog later this week about recurring events.  Too many recurring events in last fortnight have kept me too occupied to blog thus far!
