{action.OptOutUrl} works in body, but not in footer.
October 09, 2011, 02:29:39 pm
Hello,

I have tried adding {action.outOutUrl} to my message footer, but the URL does not actually appear in the e-mail. I am able to send the mailing and do not receive the error message telling me that it is missing, but again, the actual URL does not appear in the mailing. If I put the token into the body, the URL does appear.

Any ideas?

Thank you in advance!

i just did a quick test on the latest 3.4 and it worked fine for me :(

might want to upgrade if u r on a older version. Also ensure u r using the right spelling. the case is important:

 {action.optOutUrl}

I'm experiencing the same thing, Lobo, using 3.4.8 on Joomla 1.5.25. Was working on earlier versions. The standard email token does work in the footer.
Thanx and have a great holiday.

Okay, I think I tracked down the problem. First off, can't get any backtrace or debugging going because the public facing {actionoptOutUrl} kicks back a 500 error. I went searching for the files in the stack referring to issue http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-8215.

If I add "/administrator/index.php..." after the domain name then it takes me to the right page but only if I am logged in. (See attached screenshot)
This does not work on a public facing URL meaning without "/administrator/index.php..." inserted.

So, I am wondering if you require that contacts must have a user login in order for this to work now? This wasn't the case in earlier versions.
I'm not very good with PHP so I really can't contribute to the troubleshooting that well.
Also, I do not see similar files in the above stack on the public side.

Please advise

I did a quick spin of this on my joomla 1.6 / 4.0 install and it seemed to be doing the right thing.

I do not have a J1.5 install and could not test it there.

You can try tracing the code starting from: components/com_civicrm/civicrm.php

and see whats the cause of the white page
