I've run across a little snag . . .

For our annual meeting I set up a custom field and a profile to ask for meal choice and some other info during registration.  This has worked well and some registrants have entered data.  Others however will require a reminder notice.  Tomorrow I have to give the meal info to the hotel and I cannot make civiCRM give me a list of this information.

I tried to make a profile with just the custom field so I could go to batch update and make changes or at least search and see what the meal choices are.  But the custom data does not show up (nor is the field editable).  Non-custom participant data works fine.

I tried using search builder to search for participants in this event where the custom field was null.  civiCRM says no users meet this criteria which I know is not true.

I'm not sure if I've bumped up against something that isn't possible, if I am just being daft (I've got a cold today and am not at my best) or if I need to get off my butt and upgrade to the latest version (but not till after this meeting!)

If you can tell what I'm doing wrong I'd be grateful to hear it.  Thank you.
