I have a situation where, due to inconsistent data entry, we have multiple organizations that need to be consolidated so that their employees all show up in one place. When I searched for help on this topic, I found reference to a feature called "Merge for Organizations" but I cannot find where that is.

Find and Merge Duplicates does not work for me; I think my task is slightly different:

What I need to do is simply search for an organization, then say, OK, "ABC Corp" is not right; I want all the employees of this organization to be reassigned to "ABC" I want "ABC Corp" to be deleted from the system so nobody continues to mistakenly use it.

thank you; that is exactly what I was looking for. Many things in Civi are hidden in this way--you have to know they exist first. I would have expected to find a menu item for "merge organizations" not just to have it appear as a possible option after searching, selecting, etc. I had a similar confusion as I tried to create smart groups...you have to do a search first...whereas I am thinking from the perspective of my objective, not some incidental impact.
