Batch update membership via Participant status
October 19, 2011, 07:08:42 am
I am trying to update the membership information (end date and status) based on a participants status.  I am running into two problems.

I created a group with those participants I want to update their membership.

I also created a profile of membership information that included status, type, source.  The end data is not an available field.  Is there a way to have end data be included in the profile?

But when I select this group and then Batch Update via Profile the membership profile is not shown.  The only time I see this membership profile is when I search Find Members - but this way of search the data this way does not allow me to select the correct group.

I realize that I may be mixing up my modules - but what is the best way to accomplish this task.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Having not heard anything - perhaps I will make my question simpler.

I want to update membership status of a group of participants to new end date.  When I select this group and then Batch Update via Profile the membership profile if created is not shown.  Have others found a way to batch update membership status?

I guess another way would be to create a new membership record for these individuals.  Would this be a better solution?  Not sure how I would create membership records for a group of individuals.

Your advise is appreciated.

I plan to start using Civimember in the next fortnight or so and will need in the future to be able to use batch update via profile to update membership in bulk for people identified through a contact search/group.  My testing today has thrown up the same issue mentioned here - the profile I create with membership info just isn't visible as a batch update option.  I'd value any thoughts on this.  Many thanks.

There has been some bugs with this function but now it's working at least for us. But join, start and end date is currently not available for the batch update. I do hope those fields will be available in the future.
