CiviSync and Microsoft Outlook
October 19, 2011, 08:36:35 am
I'm so grateful for CiviCRM.  Thanks for your part in making it possible.

I'm new to it and am trying to ensure a good integration with Microsoft Outlook.  I've tried to read up on CiviSync, but have had a hard time finding the most current capability (and un-capability) list.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Hi,
I have no idea what the status of CiviSync is, I am sorry....what are you trying to achieve with the synchronization with Microsoft Outlook?

Hi Erik,

Thanks for your reply.  I'm trying to continue to use our Microsoft Outlook as the email interface and avoid duplicating contacts there and on CiviCRM.

Any ideas?

Sincerely,
Jon

Well, if it is just the contacts you are worried about I would imagine you could develop a synchronization and I would certainly have a play with CiviSync. I would imagine it gets a little more complicated if you also want to sync actual mails?

We are working on a LDAP interface. ie. where you can lookup (read, not write) civi from the autocomplete list on outlook when you are sending an email.

We are looking for co-sponsors on that...
