Converting one activity type into another--direct MySQL edit?
October 24, 2011, 07:47:43 am
Hello,

I created a new activity type "interview" which in retrospect has just complicated my searches. Since these were all phone interviews, I would like to convert them to phone calls. Is there a quick way to do this within the CiviCRM interface? If not, would changing the "activity_type_id" in the civicrm_activity table do the trick or is it more complicated than that?

thank you,
-david

If there are no custom data fields associated with this activity type, then your suggestion is reasonable. Certainly you should backup your DB first in case something goes wrong however.

Thanks Hershel. I won't attempt to edit the database directly until I've both made a backup and practiced loading the backup onto a test computer.
