Can we still show Contribution Page on Contribution View after disable?

If contribution is made through a contribution page, that contribution page is shown when viewing the contribution.

If that contribution page is later disabled, the contribution page row on contribution view is hidden.

If that contribution page is later re-enabled, the data on the contribution page returns.

Is it appropriate and/or possible to show the contribution page row when viewing a contribution, regardless of the status of the contribution page?  A client has requested this.

update: This change was approved by the core team for inclusion in 4.1.  http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-9133
