CiviCRM Community Forums (archive)

I'm new to CiviCRM and am looking into alternatives to our current set up with IMIS. Am I missing something or is there nowhere within CiviCRM to add sessions to events? Or Rooms and Bookings? The way I understand it CiviCRM views any session as its own Event. Am I correct? Are there any workarounds?

Also, as far as recreating "Committees", so let's say, all of our members from Ontario can be representatives of their region by being members of the "Ontario Region Committee", the closest I've come to replicating this is by using Organic Groups.

Am I right about that one?

Sorry guys if these are newbie questions, I'm just really trying to make this work.
