Contribution - no option to translate "Introductory Message"?

Is there any way for me to translate the Introductory Message for a contribution?

Is that CiviCRM 4.0.x?

Can you test with the CiviCRM language switcher? It is a block that you have you enable in your admin interface. I'm not sure how that is done in Joomla, but worst case, add &lcMessages=fr to the URL (where "fr" is your language code).
