Hi,

What I am trying to do is adding a new custom field (say Date of brith) . then when clicking on that Date I want to all Contacts that born on that Date to be returned.
Same goes for a university field , when a university name is clicked it should return all contacts in that university.

Could you please direct me on which files I need to modify in order to make this ?
I believe this could be achieved by passing post variables to the search file.

The Profile-based search / listing / view contact functionality includes this feature. You can see an example on the public demo.
A "view contact" page where the custom field "Most Important Issue" has been added with Visibility = Public User Pages and Listings can be found here:

... note that the value of the custom field is a link. Clicking on the link returns a list of all contacts who share that value.
